Robert Altman's brilliant film "Nashville," starring Barbara, Lily Tomlin, Henry Gibson, and Keith Carradine, is receiving its first release on DVD August 15. To celebrate, Altman, Barbara and much of the cast are interviewed in this month's Premiere Magazine. A nice quote from Lily Tomlin: "I was the hugest of Barbara Harris fans. I thought she was so stunning and original."

Anchor Bay Entertainment's reported plans to rerelease "Freaky Friday" on video and DVD have been indefinitely put on hold.

On June 29, Anchor Bay rereleased the movie "The North Avenue Irregulars," starring Barbara, Cloris Leachman, and Edward Herrmann, on video and DVD. The video is available in a standard version for $9.98 or a widescreen "collector's editon" for $14.98. The DVD, which features both formats, is $24.98.

Tuesday, May 25 was Barbara's birthday. To celebrate, Twentieth Century Fox rereleased two of her long out-of-print movies to video: "Who is Harry Kellerman and Why Is He Saying Those Terrible Things About Me?" and "The War Between Men and Women." Happy birthday, Barbara!

Theater critic Walter Kerr perhaps described Barbara Harris best when he called her "the square root of noisy sex" and "sweetness carried well into infinity." In all her appearances on the stage and screen, Barbara displays an amazing blend of luminescence, charisma, humor, and skill... not to mention a marvelous singing voice. Her work on Broadway, though sadly far too brief, is best represented by two musicals, "On a Clear Day You Can See Forever" and "The Apple Tree," both of which, thankfully, have been preserved on cast albums. In both shows Barbara received critical acclaim for her work, not to mention, respectively, a Tony nomination and a Tony award.

Barbara has also had a very fruitful film career, appearing in many noteworthy movies. (* denotes awards and/or nominations Barbara received for the film.)
